WELCOME MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

As I reflect on my fifth year at Barnet School I continue to feel very grateful for the opportunity to serve in such a warm, supportive, and welcoming community. The community’s unwavering support of its school and its faculty and staff is commendable and very much appreciated. I want to recognize our faculty and staff as dedicated and caring people who understand the importance of keeping the best interests of children in mind whenever decisions are made. Our students continue to be interested in learning, enthusiastic, inquisitive, energetic, and well behaved (most of the time). For those times when a few of our students have difficulty behaving, we have instituted some new procedures to address their challenges which include more timely and more frequent meetings with the child, parents, and teachers. The full text of these new procedures is included in the Planning Room section of the handbook. We will continue to work on updating our behavior management/education plan as the year progresses....

Jean Denson-

Jean Denson is a very well known person here at the Barnet School, but a lot of us know her as Mrs. Denson.  Mrs. Denson was born on May 5th in Pittsfield, Massachusetts and grew up in white river.  A few years later she attended UVM (University of Vermont) and decided to become a guidance councilor because of an adviser she had that set a fantastic role model for herself.  She has been a guidance councilor for 38 years, and has been teaching at Barnet School for 3 years.  She describes herself as outgoing because she really likes interacting with people.  She loves Barnet School because of everybody in it!  She enjoys outdoor activities, reading, and knitting.  She has won a couple of awards too, teacher of the year and leadership award.  Her dream is that one day, every student in Barnet School will smile and say hello to everyone they meet.
