WELCOME MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

As I reflect on my fifth year at Barnet School I continue to feel very grateful for the opportunity to serve in such a warm, supportive, and welcoming community. The community’s unwavering support of its school and its faculty and staff is commendable and very much appreciated. I want to recognize our faculty and staff as dedicated and caring people who understand the importance of keeping the best interests of children in mind whenever decisions are made. Our students continue to be interested in learning, enthusiastic, inquisitive, energetic, and well behaved (most of the time). For those times when a few of our students have difficulty behaving, we have instituted some new procedures to address their challenges which include more timely and more frequent meetings with the child, parents, and teachers. The full text of these new procedures is included in the Planning Room section of the handbook. We will continue to work on updating our behavior management/education plan as the year progresses....

Beth Comerci-

Beth was born on July 16th in Waterbury, Connecticut. She went to Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture, as well as Johnson State College. Beth has been an educator for eight years and has been working at Barnet School for all eight, and teaches behavioral support. She decided to work at Barnet because she wanted to check it out for her children to come here; not to mention it was close to home. One of Beth’s favorite things about Barnet School is the friendly environment.

Her favorite holiday is Memorial Day because she usually doesn’t take time out of the year to remember the dead. Some of her favorite hobbies are going to auctions, home building and swimming all because they are fun to do. Beth says on word to describe her would be task oriented because she likes the sense of accomplishment. Beth used to work as an ornamental horticulturist. She says if she were to change jobs today she would work as a physiologist so she would be able to help people with more expertise. Beth says an accomplishment she is proud of is successfully raising children and getting her masters. Her favorite place on earth is the ocean because she thinks it connects every thing like it’s a bridge to everywhere and every one.

Beth has been married for 24 years and has 3 sons. One is a pilot, another wants to be a doctor and the third is undecided. Her husband is very patient, loving, generous, and involved father and committed husband. Beth says she appreciates all the support from others.
